wished to bring together those involved in food production and preparation
in the Cantal with the aim of organising promotional activities
on behalf of the various professions, our local produce and our
savoir-faire. From this desire, in June 1998, sprang the Maison
du Goût.

Since
then, and with the help of my colleagues in the world of bakery, catering,
delicatessen, butchery, wine and all related trades, we have set up
numerous events for the promotion of our regional specialities, including
: |

The Chocolate, beans and figurines Fair (March or April)
- Joyeuses Pâques dans le Cantal … and our culinary traditions
(April)
- The Fête de la Cuisine dans le Cantal ( May )
- The Village du Goût, as part of the Festival ECLAT ( August)
- The Semaine du Goût dans le Cantal ( October).
The major event for the Maison du Goût is the organisation
of the Festival International du Casse-croûte et des Goudots
Gourmands.

Every
year, on the last weekend in June, the Maison du Goût organises
a weekend devoted to the pleasures of good food and featuring the
local produce and specialities of the Cantal.
Sponsored by Jean Luc PETITRENAUD, the Festival International du Casse-Croûte
et des Goudots Gourmands has become increasingly successful and is
now attended by over 30,000 visitors a year. So come along and discover
all the activities that are part of the festival, including : |

- The assembly of the various fraternities
- The market of bread from around the world
- The wine court
