THE
EQUIPE DE FRANCE DE BOULANGERIE
An association composed of France's Best Bakers |
|
|
As
a one-time holder of the award for 'France's Best Baker', I wished
to set up an association bringing together the elite of French traditional
bread-making, with the aim of promoting traditional bread-making throughout
the world and at the same time sharing our skills with others.
Today, the association has 42 members .
|
|
Its
role:
TRAINING
The members of the Equipe de France de Boulangerie pass on their
traditional skills at the École Française de Boulangerie
in Aurillac and also all over the world at trade fairs and by means
of advanced courses on French traditional skills in Japan, the USA
and European countries
|
|
PROMOTION
AND OTHER ACTIVITIES
As part of its promotional activity on behalf of French traditional
bread-making, the Equipe de France de Boulangerie contributes to the
organisation of numerous activities as well as taking part in France's
annual celebration of bread, the Fête Nationale du Pain, with
open-air bread ovens and demonstrations of baking in wood-burning
ovens . |
 |
'France's
Best Bakers' also provide demonstrations for those in the food industry
at trade fairs.
They also help in the organisation of the Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie
which takes place every three years during the EUROPAIN international
fair. The competition involves twelve countries and focuses on three
aspects of baking :
- Baguettes and speciality breads
- Croissants, brioches etc
- Artistic creations |
| For
the annual national bakery fair, 'France's Best Bakers' contribute
to the organisation of the 'Fournil des Régions' event, at
which a different region is featured every day. In front of visitors
to the fair, the bakers prepare the speciality breads of their region
and their ladies invite the visitors to sample them. |
PUBLISHING
The Équipe de France de Boulangerie already has to its credit
one book, in which 20 of 'France's Best Bakers' describe their professional
career and offer three recipes each . |
