THE
COUPE DU MONDE DE LA BOULANGERIE
Travelling all over the world I have discovered a great diversity
of different kinds of bread in various countries. I have also met
men and women with a passionate enthusiasm for the age-old craft of
bread-making who work ceaselessly for the promotion and quality of
traditional breads. |
| It
was this that inspired me to set up the Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie,
the Bakers' World Cup. This great international competition, which
every three years brings together the elite of the world's bread-makers
during the EUROPAIN event, is a meeting place for bakers from all
over the world. |
 |
|
Twelve
teams representing twelve countries from five continents do battle
in true Olympic spirit armed only with baguettes, special breads,
pastries and artistic creations.
The Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie has proved so popular all over
the world that we have had to organise preliminary rounds in the various
continents to determine the twelve teams to take part in the finals
of this great international competition. |
| From
the 21st to the 23rd of April 2001, twelve particularly well motivated
and prepared teams competed in the final rounds at the EUROPAIN international
fair. All the participants gave of their best to make this World Cup
event a wonderful show, an especially rich and intense experience
thanks to the professional interchange of ideas among the various
teams from all over the world. |
